We visited Monteverde with a small car and took road 606 approaching the town from the south. Apart from some bumpy areas, where we had to adjust our speed, the rest of the road was perfectly doable. 🚌 By bus: The most budget-friendly way to get to Monteverde is by bus. From San JosĂ©, take a bus to Puntarenas, and from there, transfer to a bus heading to Monteverde. The entire trip takes around 5 to 6 hours and costs approximately $10 to $15. While this option takes longer, it offers a scenic and immersive experience of the Costa Rican countryside.
